Methods and materials

Thirty-six kidney transplant candidates underwent CTA and contemporaneous ferumoxytol-enhanced MRA (FeMRA) of the aortoiliac vasculature as part of a prospective comparative study.

Three independent readers analysed the FeMRA and CTA. We compared arterial and venous diameter, calcification, and signal/average Hounsfield units at prespecified vascular sections.

Interclass correlation coefficients (ICC), mean differences (95% CI) and Bland-Altman plots examined intra- and inter-reader variability.

In addition two transplant surgeons clinically assessed the scans.
